Project Gallery - "Old Farm Hideaway"
St. Joseph, Michigan
|
The Challenge:
Located in a subdivision built on old farm land, with neighboring houses, privacy became an issue of concern. With basically a blank slate, it was a challenge to take a piece of land and create intimate areas for entertainment, while keeping areas open enough for children to play.
The Solution:
Different varieties of evergreens that have different growth habits, deciduous trees used for ornamental purposes and also to help create "rooms" within the landscape.
Overall Effect:
Views from within the home looking out become pleasing to look at. Patio and deck areas create intimate areas of enjoyment. Mass plantings of perennials and grasses create a sense of movement and color throughout the entire four seasons.
